E. coli map: How the outbreak looks

Nine countries are reporting cases of the potentially deadly haemolytic-uraemic syndrome (HUS) in connection with the E. coli outbreak which began in Germany. The World Health Organization says 784 people are affected by HUS in Germany alone. Use the map below to see how the disease has spread. The WHO figures represent cases up to 14 June. Local authorities may report slightly different totals.

The figures show the number of HUS cases reported to the WHO and the number of deaths from HUS and E. coli.
