Life and reputation of Ratko Mladic
Ratko Mladic was indicted for war crimes back in 1995 but he continued to live openly in Belgrade until he went into hiding in 2002.
Since then he has been protected by Serb nationalists who still see him as a hero.
For the rest of the world he is a symbol of the worst excesses of the Bosnian civil war.
