Moustache and beard championships in Norway


Contestants from 15 countries participated in the World Beard and Moustache Championships in Trondheim, Norway.

Germany came out on top with seven gold medals, closely followed by the USA taking six.

US participant Michael Schreeder commented on his chances in the "premier event in the international sport of bearding".

The competition is divided into a number of categories including natural goatee, sideburns freestyle, Hungarian moustache and imperial partial beard.

Worlds best beard title went to German, Elmar Weisser, with his elaborate facial hair sculpture of a moose.
