Dogs maul Romanian woman to death

A woman in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, has died after being mauled by a pack of stray dogs.

Earlier this week the 49-year-old was found critically injured in a company compound, and taken to hospital. She underwent major surgery, but doctors were unable to save her life.

It is unclear why the woman had visited the compound.

Bucharest is home to thousands of stray dogs, which officials say represent a growing danger to humans.

An investigation into the incident is under way.
