Icebreaker attempts to reach icebound ships

Two Russian icebreakers are trying to reach more than 500 sailors trapped on board ships in the Russian Sea of Okhotsk.

Three vessels have been icebound since Friday and two more became stuck in ice up to 2m (6.5ft) thick on Monday.
