Bullfighting ban discussed in Catalonia

Lawmakers in Catalonia could make the semi-autonomous region the first mainland part of Spain to outlaw bullfighting.

While animal rights groups support the move, others say the vote is an attempt by Catalonia to distance itself from the rest of the country after its proposals to expand self-rule were rejected by the Spanish constitutional court.
