New Zealand students on science trip see Mount Tongariro erupt

Students in New Zealand had a spectacular end to their science trip when the volcano they were standing on erupted.

Mount Tongariro in the North Island burst into life sending volcanic ash spewing high into the sky, something the group's teacher described as an "overwhelming but inspiring highlight" to their trip.
