Rescue as Sydney monorail fails amid soaring heat

Dozens of people had to be rescued from a monorail train in Sydney, Australia, when an apparent power cut left two carriages stranded.

Police and firefighters used a cherry-picker crane to reach the carriages, before forcing open the doors.

Paramedics told ABC News that temperatures in the carriages soared to 40C (104F).
