Profile: Kim Jong-un, North Korea's Supreme Leader

Help

Following North Korea's controversial rocket launch last week, BBC Radio 4's Profile looks at the mysterious background of its new young leader, Kim Jong-un.

After the death of his father Kim Jong-Il late last year, he has begun to establish his authority in relation to North Korea's military and ruling communist party, and he has been confirmed this week in the most senior political office.

Still in his twenties, Kim Jong-un is the world's youngest head of state and differs from his predecessors - his father and grandfather - in having been educated in the West, at least partially.

But will his leadership style differ from them, too, asks Profile presenter David Torrance.
