Sydney Harbour Bridge celebrates 80th birthday

One of Australia's most recognisable landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, has celebrated its 80th birthday.

The festivities included a special performance by musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, on top of the 134m-high arch.

Taking part in the celebrations was 80-year-old Ralph Bradfield-Bonner, who was born on the day the bridge opened for the first time, and named after the British and Australian engineers who built it.

Duncan Kennedy reports.
