Chinese artist Ai Weiwei released on bail

The outspoken Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei has been released on bail.

He was arrested at the beginning of April and taken into detention prompting an international outcry.

Chinese state media said he was released after admitting tax evasion and because of ill health.
