Japan earthquake: The path of the tsunami

A massive relief effort is under way after Friday's devastating earthquake hit off the north-east coast of Japan.

Dramatic pictures have emerged of how the tsunami triggered by the earthquake unfolded, moving everything in its path.

The footage, broadcast on Japanese TV, shows the tsunami as it hit various locations in north-eastern Japan.
