Indonesia tsunami warning system a step closer
Prayer services will mark the sixth anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami that killed a quarter of a million people in 13 countries.
Worst hit was the Indonesian province of Aceh, where 170,000 lives were lost. Since 2004, a series of natural disasters has highlighted Indonesia's vulnerability to unpredictable seismic activity, while the authorities continue to develop a tsunami early warning system.
