Non-resident Indians campaign for absentee ballot

Elections are under way in India - the largest democracy in the world.

But Indians who live abroad for work, study or other reasons are unable to vote as there is no system of absentee balloting.

Many non-resident Indians have been trying to change this. They have filed petitions in the Indian Supreme Court, organised protests and even gone on hunger strike.
