Felicity Kendal meets Indian prisoners doing Shakespeare
Felicity Kendal has been discovering the story of India's love affair with Shakespeare.
The actress began her career in India and during her childhood spent time travelling across the country with her parents' theatre company Shakespeareana.
She travels back to the country she still thinks of as home and finds out more about the impact Shakespeare has had on Indian culture over the last 250 years.
Kendal visits one prison where the inmates regularly perform plays, and is particularly impressed by one of the men who has taken on the role of King Lear.
Felicity Kendal's Indian Shakespeare Quest is broadcast on BBC Two at 21:00 BST on Wednesday 16 May, as part of the BBC's Shakespeare Unlocked season.
