Man held after six shot dead in southern China

Police in China say they have arrested a man accused of killing six people.

Shao Zongqi is accused of shooting a total of nine people - two men who he suspected of having affairs with his wife, their wives, children and the father of one of the men.

One of the men and his two children survived the shooting, which took place on Friday as people marked the Lunar New Year holiday.

It happened in Tengcheng county in Yunnan province, state media said.

The man, who is believed to have carried out the killings using a semi-automatic rifle, was arrested on Monday afternoon, China Daily said.
