Five killed in Shanghai construction site collapse

Five workers have been killed and 18 hurt in an accident at a construction site for a car park in the Chinese city of Shanghai, state media report.

Shanghai's work safety administration said that a concrete structure at the parking lot in the eastern district of Pudong collapsed, AP reports.

The accident happened late on Monday. One worker died on the spot; the others died at hospital, state media report.

The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
