China welcomes Year of the Dragon

Fireworks have lit up the skies of Beijing to welcome the lunar new year.

The Chinese Year of the Dragon arrived with a spectacular display of pyrotechnics.

The occasion is the longest and most important of the traditional Chinese holidays, with workers returning home and factories ceasing production.
