Chinese set to break year marriages record on 11/11/11
Attracted by the supposedly auspicious 11/11/11, thousands of Chinese couples were set to break the year's record of marriages on a single day.
A month before the date, marriage registration centres across the country started accepting reservations from couples.
No less than 4,000 marriages were expected in Beijing alone.
But the record will still remain with September 9, 2009, which led 19,000 to tie the knot.
Xiaoyun Yao reports.
