Japan aims to resume scientific whaling hunts

9 June 2014 Last updated at 16:37 BST

The annual hunt was called off this year after the international court in The Hague ruled it was not for scientific purposes, and was illegal commercial whaling in disguise.

Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reports from Tokyo.
