6 April 2014 Last updated at 15:44 BST

The United States is to send two ballistic missile defence destroyers to Japan, the American defence secretary has confirmed.

Chuck Hagel announced the deployment during a trip to Tokyo, amid growing concerns about security threats from North Korea and China.

The ships will join five US warships already stationed in Japan by 2017.
