Malaysia plane search enters third week

22 March 2014 Last updated at 09:48 GMT

As the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane enters its third week, rescue teams are scouring remote seas in the Indian Ocean for debris.

Satellites detected objects in the water 2,500 km (1,550 miles) south-west of Perth in Australia two days ago, but planes have so far failed to track them down.

Flight MH370 dropped out of contact an hour after leaving Kuala Lumpur en route to Beijing on 8 March.

Phil Mercer reports from Perth.
