Asia Beats: Nguyen Cong Hai, Vietnam

13 March 2014 Last updated at 21:19 GMT

Nguyen Cong Hai used to be the lead singer and song writer of a very popular rock band in Vietnam - Tiny Monsters.

He went solo when the group split in 2013.

Making rock music started as an act of rebellion by Hai against the classical piano lessons he hated.

Now, he says he loves making music so much he does not want to see it as a career for fear of spoiling his enjoyment.

His style of music, which combines Vietnamese traditional folk melodies with contemporary music, makes him stand out from the crowd.

Nguyen spoke to BBC News for the Asia Beats series about why loneliness is not the worst thing in the world.
