Chinese president makes video call to Tiangong space lab

Chinese President Xi Jinping has made a video call to three of his country's astronauts aboard the orbiting Tiangong space laboratory.

The president thanked the astronauts personally after they succeeded in manually docking their spacecraft with the experimental space lab - the latest step in China's plan to one day put a permanently manned station above the Earth.
