North Korea threats: South Korea 'can manage any crisis'

As North Korea steps up its warlike rhetoric, South Korea Defence Ministry spokesman Wi Yong-Sup has said the government is able to ''manage any crisis''.

North Korea has threatened to target the US and South Korea in recent weeks, and a statement from Pyongyang said its military had been given final approval to launch a nuclear strike.

''Our military readiness is already high'' Wi Yong-Sup added.
