Vietnam bus collision 'leaves 11 dead'

Two passenger buses have collided in central Vietnam, leaving at least 11 people dead and dozens of others injured, police say.

The two bus drivers were among the casualties of the accident in Khanh Hoa province, a police official said.

At least 48 others were injured in the crash, with nine in critical condition, according to reports.

Officials are investigating the cause of the accident, which happened early on Friday in the southern province.

One of the buses was speeding in the wrong lane, police were quoted in local reports as saying.

Officials say that one bus was carrying 47 passengers. They have yet to determine how many people were on the other bus.

Nine people died at the scene of the accident, reports the Thanh Nien newspaper.
