When will China's hazardous smog lift?
China's media has urged the government to be more open about pollution levels after many northern cities registered dangerous levels of smog in recent days.
In the capital Beijing, some readings were nearly 40 times the World Health Organisation's safe limit, as Damian Grammaticas reports.
