Afghanistan: Nato says air strike is 'tragic'

Help

At least eight women have been killed, and at least seven have reportedly been injured, in a Nato air-strike in eastern Afghanistan.

Officials in Laghman Province say the women died after going into the mountains early on Sunday to collect firewood.

Major Adam Wojack, a spokesman for the Isaf international forces, said an investigation was under way.

''This is a tragic loss of life - our sincerest condolences go out to the community, the families and the Afghan people'', he added.
