The Taliban say they carried out a deadly attack on a Nato base in Afghanistan in response to a video that has caused outrage in the Muslim world.

At least two US marines died when militants breached the perimeter of the sprawling base in Helmand province.

Brigadier General Gunter Katz, a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), said they were still investigating how the Taliban managed to attack Camp Bastion.

He told the BBC it was not yet possible to determine whether the US part of the base had been specifically targeted.
