Desperate Indian mother who gave away daughters


Three sisters in India rescued after their mother tried to sell them for the equivalent of $3 are now back with her, in a safe house.

Purnima Halder said she gave her daughters away because she was unable to feed them. Media reports in India suggested that she sold the girls for 185 rupees ($3; £2). The girls were later rescued by the authorities.
