China 'helped' North Korea with missile launcher

Help

The United Nations Security Council is reported to be investigating claims that China supplied the technology for a missile launcher seen on display at a military parade in North Korea.

According to the journal Jane's Defence Weekly, the 16-wheel launcher's resemblance to a Chinese vehicle could suggest Beijing is in breach of UN sanctions against Pyongyang.

The Chinese foreign ministry has denied that it breached sanctions in any way.

James Hardy, Asia-Pacific editor at Jane's Defence Weekly and author of the report, told the BBC it would be difficult for the UN to investigate the claims.
