India's huge volumes of waste
Rapid urbanisation in India is creating huge volumes of waste in its cities.
Mumbai generates more rubbish each day than any other city in the country.
To deal with the problem, the city's civic authorities have proposed privatizing solid waste management.
But many believe it might end the livelihood of thousands of so-called "rag pickers", engaged in "informal" waste collection.
