Nine people have been killed and many others have been injured in a suicide car bomb attack at Jalalabad airport in eastern Afghanistan.

The attack comes after six days anti-US demonstrations over the burning of Korans at a US military airbase.

Nato said it had no reports of international forces being among the casualties in Jalalabad.

Orla Guerin reports from Kabul.
