Half a million Afghans 'now homeless'

A recent Amnesty International report suggests that over the last few years about 500,000 Afghans have left their hometowns in search of safer places to live.

As many as 30,000 of them have been living in make-shift tents on the outskirts of Kabul in very dire conditions.

The organisation wants the global community to give these so-called "forgotten people" urgent attention.
