World reaction to death of Kim Jong-il
The death of Kim Jong-il is of concern to governments around the world who are worried about the stability of the Korean peninsula.
Nearby neighbours such as Japan have heightened the state of alert of their military forces. Australia's Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd said the death brought about a "critical juncture".
