DR Congo M23 rebels agree to disarm

5 November 2013 Last updated at 16:48 GMT

M23 rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been defeated, the country's government has claimed.

A spokesman said the last remaining rebels had either fled across the border or surrendered and their weapons had been destroyed overnight.

In a statement the rebel group said it would adopt "purely political means" to pursue its goals.

Maud Jullien reports from Goma, one of DRC's border towns which is now under government control.
