FW de Klerk: The South African president who released Nelson Mandela

In the course of making a two-part BBC profile of Nelson Mandela in 2003, David Dimbleby spoke to a number of leading figures who knew Mandela well.

President FW de Klerk, President of South Africa from 1989 to 1994, is the man who took the decision to release Nelson Mandela from prison.
