Chinese media in Africa: What you need to know


China's new president, Xi Jinping, will visit Tanzania, South Africa and the Republic of Congo from 24 March on the African leg of his first overseas tour.

In recent years, as the relationship between China and Africa has developed, so has China's presence in the media landscape across the continent.

BBC Monitoring's Mathias Muindi explores China's media plans for Africa.
