'Rejected food' feeds UN officials at Kenyan feast

Help

Approximately 500 diplomats, United Nations officials and environment ministers have been treated to an official dinner, where the food used was Kenyan produce that would have been thrown away.

Some of the ingredients were rejected by European supermarkets for being the wrong size or shape.

It is estimated that 1.3bn tonnes of food are wasted each year around the world.

Will Ross reports from Nairobi.
