Pope resigns: Cardinal Peter Turkson on succession
Following Pope Benedict's resignation, there is already speculation about who could be the next pontiff, with some suggesting it is time for a non-European to take the role.
Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Turkson has been suggested as a possible candidate, but he told the BBC choosing a Pope based on statistics was not how it should be done.
"It doesn't go by representation... those type of considerations tend to muddy the water."
