Algeria hostage: 'We were used as human shields'
A Filipino gas worker has described his ordeal during the hostage crisis at a gas plant in Algeria.
Joseph Balmaceda said he and his colleagues originally hid, but emerged too soon and were confronted by the militants.
He says they were then used as a human shields to protect the militants from government forces.
