West African leaders agree to send troops to Mali
West African leaders say they intend to send more than 3,000 troops to northern Mali, in an attempt to recapture the area from Islamist rebels.
The north of the country has been in the hands of the rebels since an army coup left a power vacuum in March.
However, organising and deploying the soldiers could take months to implement.
Bill Hayton reports.
