Dangers faced by Democratic Republic of the Congo women
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has been in the news this week with leaked UN reports implicating the governments of Rwanda and Uganda in the instability in the east of the country.
The two neighbouring countries are accused of backing Congo's M23 rebels, a charge denied by both governments.
The news came as a local hospital announced that more than 5,000 women have been raped since the beginning of the year in the eastern province of North Kivu alone.
William, who works for with the NGO Everything is A Benefit, is based in Goma and describes how hard life is for women in the DRC.
