Spoek Mathambo's take on African electronic music
Spoek Mathambo is a DJ, producer and rapper - and one of the major players in South Africa's electronic music scene.
The self-styled "township tech" of his debut album, Mshini Wam, took many by surprise in 2010.
His most recent CD, Father Creeper, also pushes the musical boundaries with its intriguing mix of traditional African rhythms, hip hop, electro-funk, blues and hard rock.
Born in Soweto as Nthato Mokgata, he performed in the UK recently as part of the Africa Express tour.
BBC Africa's Manuel Toledo met up with Spoek Mathambo to find out how his love affair with electro started.
