South Africa mine still shut as workers 'intimidated'

Help

There are reports that miners trying to return to work at a South African platinum mine are being intimidated and threatened by members of a breakaway union.

Lonmin says just 13% of workers have reported for duty at the Marikana mine, where 34 people were shot dead by police during a protest earlier this month.

There are reports that hundreds of miners have gathered outside, amid a heavy police presence.

Peter Biles reports from Johannesburg.
