East Kenya clashes: Nearly 50 killed during violence

Help

Nearly 50 people have been killed in the Tana River district of eastern Kenya during the worst violence since disputed elections five years ago.

The victims, who were mostly women and children, were burned or hacked to death by members of rival communities, in what is thought to have been a dispute over cattle-grazing rights.
