NATO and other navies operating off the coast of Somalia have warned of a recent increase in pirate attacks there.
Warships are trying to protect international convoys through the pirate-prone Gulf of Aden.
BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner is travelling on a merchant tanker sailing all the way through this area, bound for Suez via the Gulf of Aden.
