Making room for South Sudan at the UN


Now that South Sudan has gained independence, one of its first big aims is to join the United Nations.

The Security Council will vote on the issue on Wednesday, with South Sudan's seat in the General Assembly expected to be confirmed by all 192 member states on Thursday.

Barbara Plett looks at how the UN is making room for the newcomer.
