Morocco constitution changes approved

Moroccans have overwhelmingly approved constitutional reforms put forward by King Mohammed VI, early results have suggested.

The changes, inspired by protests taking a lead from the "Arab Spring", mean executive powers would rest with a prime minister, while allowing the king to remain head of the military, religious authorities and judiciary.

With almost all the ballots counted, 98.5% of people had voted in favour of the reforms, Interior Minister Taib Cherkaoui said.
