Sudan crisis: 'Ethnic cleansing' in South Kordofan

As South Sudan prepares to secede from the north, there has been a recent spate of violence along the border.

Last month, northern forces took control of the disputed town of Abyei and the fighting has spread to neighbouring South Kordofan and Unity State.

John Ashworth, an advisor with the Sudan Ecumenical Forum, told the BBC's Focus on Africa that civilian members of pro-southern communities were being targeted by northern forces.
